FEBRUARY 2, 2026Where could thoughtfulness take us?
How was your weekend?
I hope you’re taking care as we begin a new week, a new month, and the 100th commemoration of Black History Month.
It’s been a heavy few weeks out there in the world, and maybe personally too. Doing what we can, where we can, and continuing to show up for the people around us. Lately, I’ve been especially grateful for small groups and community gatherings, the kinds of spaces that invite thoughtful conversation.
For me, that’s looked like:
Priya Parker’s Group Life
Muriel Wilkins’s Coaching Real Leaders Community
Office Hours with Frances Frei
and a few personal circles with fellow coaches, neighbors, and parents
These spaces are also how I’ve gotten to know many of you more deeply.
Maybe you’ve heard Priya Parker talk about how if you want a village, you’ve got to be a villager. Villages thrive with both hosts and guests. Last year, between pregnancy and a newborn, I did a lot of guesting. I tried to practice what she calls “muscular guesting,” the kind of active, generous participation that shapes a gathering. As she puts it: "Being a guest isn't passive, it's participatory. Bring something. Notice something. Offer something."
Coming into this year, I felt the pull to host again, and over the past few months I've been building a group coaching program called Thoughtful. I’m excited to finally share it with you.
Thoughtful is a four-month small group for coaches who want to bring more care, intention, and quality to both their coaching and their business. We kick off March 11. You can learn more and set up a call if you’d like to take part.
I’m really looking forward to the mix of coaches already joining, and I’d love for you to help shape it with us.
Alright, let's get to it. Take good care this week.
Mallory
P.S. If you’re feeling the nudge to host something yourself, let this invitation from Priya Parker get you started: “So tell me, what’s one thing you’ve been longing for? What sounds fun and simple and exciting to you, and how could you host around it?”
